Oak Lawn and the Uptown area of Dallas is the most modern and trendy, whereas the West End Historic District, Arts District, the Main Street District, and Farmers Market District captures more of an old-world Texas charm. Surrounding cities include: Mesquite Garland, Rowlett, Richardson, Plano, Rockwell, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Bedford, and North Richland Hills. This entire metropolitan area of Dallas, though densely populated and urbane, Dallas still has the look and feel of a true Texas town.
