The warm, arid city of San Antonio is the true gateway to the southwestern section of the United States. There are several important districts and neighborhoods that comprise the city limits of San Antonio. Among them, Midtown, Uptown Broadway, the West Side, the South side, and the East Side are of particular note, since they each have very distinct looks and feels to their way of life. Midtown, for example, encompasses both lower and upper class communities and features a variety of architectural traditions, including Victorian, French Eclectic, and Neoclassical. Uptown Broadway can be thought of as the “Beverley Hills of San Antonio,” where many of the most famous and elite locals reside. Other surrounding cities near San Antonio include: Leon Valley, Castle Hills, Windcrest, Kirby, Live Oak, Santa Clara, Universal City, Thelma, Balcones Heights, and Southton.
