Tutoring services for children, teens and adults

Many children, teenagers and older students may experience frustration during their academic life. Subjects explained in a non-student centered fashion can become a burden for the student, who without fast and professional help may only get more and more frustrated and unmotivated. As a result, college students may drop a class, high school students may graduate with a lower GPA, teenagers and children may start to dislike a subject to the point that they may even “hate” the subject.
What is common in all of these situations is that these students experience a lack of confidence in their ability to succeed which may lead to lower grades, demoralized students, and unhappy parents who see their child struggling without being able to help. Without support, this pattern may become a downward spiral where poor grades cause low self-esteem, and low self-esteem inhibits students’ performance.
We think that a significant number of students have experienced or will experience similar situations no matter how old the student is. Do you remember a time when you were struggling in a certain subject, and only after understanding a specific concept you realized that the subject was in fact not as difficult as previously experienced?
Learning is triggered by the understanding of new concepts and integrating them with old concepts. If the student struggles with old concepts, he or she will most likely not fully understand new concepts. That is why in math, for example, addition is usually taught before multiplication as the concept of multiplication relies on the understanding of an old concept, in this case addition. Many students, although they seem to be having difficulty with an entire subject, may in fact only be struggling with a few old, not fully understood concepts.
Our tutors will, with the help of the motivated student, be able to assess and understand where the “learning line” broke. They will revisit old concepts and re-explain them.
Our tutors are happy to offer you their tutoring skills and support. We are confident that the downward spiral can be reversed and that students will be able to achieve their academic goals and smile again.
