Windows 98
Windows 98 was a groundbreaking graphical operating system created by Microsoft. The operating system was used in a wide range of computers in the late 90s and was designed to replace the landmark Windows 95 operating system. Windows 98 offered many improvements over its predecessor while still remaining an operating system that ran in MS-DOS. Unlike Windows 95, Windows 95 was the first operating system developed by Microsoft that used the Windows Driver Model (WDM), a model that went on to be used prominently in the Windows 2000 and XP operating systems. Although Windows 98 is now ten years old and has been replaced many times over by much more powerful operating systems, it was state-of-the-art for its time, and it further enhanced the user interface so that home computer use became exceedingly easier to manage.
While there are not many uses today for the Windows 98 operating system, some businesses still operate computers that use it in order to run programs of that era that are no longer supported on newer systems. For those who wish to learn all they can about this operating system, working one-on-one with a Windows 98 tutor can be a tremendous asset.
